Radu Poklitaru, was born in Chișinău to the family of ballet dancers.
He graduated from the State Choreographic School in Perm (1991) and Belorussian State Academy of Music, majoring as choreographer (ballet master) under Professor Valentin Yelizaryev, People's Artist of the USSR (1999).
In 1991 - 2001 was a ballet dancer of the National Academic Bolshoi Theatre in the Belorussia Republic.
In 2001 - 2002 was principle choreographer of the National Opera in Moldova.

In 2012 - 2013 Radu Poklitaru was artistic director of Kyiv Opera Theatre (Kyiv Municipal Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre for Children and Youth).
In 2016 Radu Poklitaru received Shevchenko National Prize in "Performing Arts" nomination - the highest state prize of Ukraine for works of culture and arts.
September, 2016 - received the rank of "People's Artist of Moldova".
August, 2017 - received the rank of " Honoured Arts Figure of Ukraine "
2018 - Principal Ballet Master of the Academic Theater "KYIV MODERN-BALLET".
March 24, 2018 - winner of 22 national prizes "Person of the Year-2017" in the nomination "The Artist of the Year".
The choreographer is currently the author of more than forty one-act and full-length performances staged on various platforms: Moldova, Latvia, the Czech Republic, Serbia and Ukraine among others.
Radu Poklitaru's ballet productions were presented at international musical festivals and tours in Great Britain, France, the Netherlands, the United States, Japan, China, Poland, Estonia, Thailand, Spain and other countries.
Each of Radu Poklitaru's projects is a challenging experiment and a daring quest that unveils the complex world of human personality and attracts with its unconventional reading of world-known theatrical plots, as well as its renewing and enriching form and vocabulary of modern dancing.
"Carmen.TV" is the first production of «KYIV MODERN-BALLET» Theatre. Why, actually, Carmen? The history of the European theatre does not know many mythologemes as popular as this one. Mérimée, who wrote the short novel about a Seville gypsy, could hardly ever realize that in the 21st century there would be a human being in the whole Western cultural world, who has never heard of Carmen. Georges Bizet in his immortal opera tremendously romanticized her image - Mérimée's gypsy is in fact a lot simpler and more prosaic.
Besides the tough story by Prosper Mérimée, Georges Bizet's music made the basis of our production. One of the leading characters of the ballet is Michaela, who lost the status of Jose's fiancée but who became the moving force of the stage action. Her presence on the stage gives the explanation for the two letters "TV" in the title of the play and its format - the two-episode ballet. The words I have put into Michaela's mouth are the only fragment I found appropriate to fit in the leaflet of the play: "When there is nobody beside, love overwhelms me and makes me see, desire, and kill the non-existing characters of the never-filmed movies. The screen flickering talks to me in the language of passion. Am I lonely?... No!"
