FRIENDS is a one-act ballet set to music by P. Vasks.
It took sixteen years for choreographer Radu Poklitaru to decide to tackle the work of composer Peteris Vasks again, but this time he chose his cello concerto. The sound of the cello, with its low and deep tones, will vividly emphasise the mood of the new production.
FRIENDS is based on a story that is imbued not only with the sad present of war, but also with moments of light in life - love, friendship, warmth, jealousy, despair, mysterious touches, flickering hope and all the things that make up life. Four people - two women and two men - will live the stunning music of Peteris Vasks in dance as sincerely as the distance between the stage and the audience, between the space of theatrical existence and everyday life, will allow them to do.
Details of the playAt least once in our lives, each of us has reflected on the fact that the history of our everyday life is characterized not by yesterday's actions, but by what is happening today. Life does not tolerate delays. Every moment of the present occupies a special position in the history of the past.
Our play "Tomorrow" is a story about us, about those who live here and now, do great things, make discoveries and mistakes, love and hate... What we do, where we go, and what we do right now shapes our future tomorrow, in a day, a week, a year. We decide what our tomorrow will be like today and live for it to the fullest today.
